Applied on furnishing fabric such as Tent, carpets curtains canvas cardboard industrial felt to make them flame proof as per BS 476 part 8.
APPLICATION METHOD Dip or spray materials to be treated must be soaked and squeezed in such a manner that after drying, the weight of the material increases by about 15 to 18 percent. RESISTANCE GUIDE Fire: Fabrics treated with REF-114 will confirm to BS 476 part 8 when tested as pretest method described in BS 3119. Dry Cleaning: Withstands numerous washes Petro wash: Withstands 3 washes.
IMPORTANT Furnishing Fabrics, curtains, mattress, coir’s, carpets etc. are highly flammable and hence, potential fire hazard, which need flame proofing to minimize fire risk. National Building code part IV, Para 11.6.1 states: “For assembly buildings, all fabrics and stage settings made of combustible materials shall be treated with flame proofing materials “ FLAME PROOFED FABRIC: When in contact with fire only char but do not spread flame. Flame proofing is either DURABLE or NON-DURABLE. Flame proofing properties remain unaffected with washing in case of durable treatment whereas the flame proofing treatment has to be repeated after every water wash in case of non- durable treatment. DURABLE TREATMENT Durable flame proof fabrics conforming to BS 476 part 8 can be supplied to consumer’s specifications. However, by virtue of the limitations in the process involved for durable treatment, only large quantities are commercially available. There are other obvious constraints such as limited fabrics range, non – availability of similar co lour and shade on later date, and inability to meet smaller requirement for partial replacements etc., and attendant delays which result in additional cost penalties. These constraints make durable flame proofing an expensive proposition particularly for furnishing fabrics, curtains, mattress covers, carpets etc. which are either never washed or rarely washed i.e. Once in 6 months or a year but not more than a few times during their useful service life. NON – DURABLE FLAME PROOFING: Provides the cost effective solution to the above problems and is therefore universally acceptable. Flame proofing with REF-114 Flame proofing of fabrics with REF – 114 is extremely convenient, economical and very effective. The process involved is simple dip or spray and can be easily carried out by the customer at his premises. REF- 114 does not affect flexibility, feel texture or color fastness of the fabrics, Drape of curtain is considerably improved due to its increased weight. Customer therefore, enjoys liberty to choose fabrics, colors designs and source of his choice.
GOVERNING SPECIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATION Fabrics treated with REF- 114 will confirm to BS 476 part 8. GOVERNING NEEDS You could be aware that these flammable material are potent fire hazards and need flame proofing to minimize fire risk. National Building Codes Part IV Para 11.6.1 states that all fabrics and stage setting made of combustible material for assembly buildings shall be treated with flame proofing material. Fabric treated with Fabkot, when in contact with fire, will only char but will not spread flame, thereby stopping propagation of fire completely.

- Packaging Details: Fire-resistant fabric coating chemicals are specialized coatings designed to impart fire resistance to textiles and fabrics.
Key points about fire resistance fabric coating chemicals:
Function: These chemicals create a protective layer on fabrics, making them less flammable and reducing the spread of flames.
Composition: The coating chemicals often contain flame-retardant agents that inhibit combustion and increase fire resistance.
Applications: Fire-resistant fabric coatings are used in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, furniture, and protective clothing.
Safety: These coatings are designed to meet fire safety standards and regulations, providing an added layer of protection in case of fire incidents.
Durability: The durability of the fire resistance may depend on the specific coating and the fabric type, requiring proper maintenance and reapplication as needed.
Aesthetics: Some fire-resistant fabric coatings are designed to be transparent or have minimal impact on the fabric's appearance.
In summary, fire-resistant fabric coating chemicals are used to enhance fire safety by providing fabrics with a protective layer that reduces flammability and prevents the spread of flames. These coatings find applications in various industries and are designed to meet safety standards and regulations. Proper maintenance is necessary to ensure continued fire resistance.
